OWNER & FOUNDER

Marty Moe

For the last 10+ years, Marty has owned and operated his own company constructing stairs. Anyone who has got stairs from Ascent Stairworks knows that his dog Oliver is the mascot around there; Marty doesn’t go many places without him! When the idea of a dog kennel was brought up, Marty was very excited to bring his love for dogs into his daily work. Keep an eye out for Marty & Oliver when you stop by The Dawg House, and be sure to say hi!

C0-FOUNDER & MANAGER

Katie Schneider

Born and raised in Surrey BC, Katie worked at her first dog kennel in Grade 11, as her passion has always been animals. She moved to Regina in 2011, and worked at a dog kennel in the city for 5 years, as well as a few pet stores. Then she started working at Ascent Stairworks at the beginning of 2018, after she got her Human Resource Diploma. At the beginning of 2019, Marty brought up the idea of The Dawg House…and it became a reality in May of 2019!⠀Katie got Beatrice (pictured) when she was 9 weeks old. She has been Katie’s little shadow ever since, going basically everywhere with her. Katie & her husband Jeremy recently got another rescue dog (Vivian), & also have 3 cats, (Kami, Kiz, and Kesa), and 2 snakes! Katie’s favourite part of working with the dogs is seeing how much they love coming to play with their friends. She says “It’s awesome to see a dog who is at first shy and reserved, come running in the door!”

LEAD TRAINER & CO-MANAGER

Elisa Bostock

Elisa began working at The Dawg House part time when they opened in 2019, and started full time in September of 2020! Growing up on a farm, Elisa knew that she wanted a career working with animals. In 2016, she began working at her first doggy daycare. Not long after, Elisa was introduced to the world of dog training - and she was instantly hooked! She says teaching obedience classes has been very rewarding, and witnessing dogs and their owners learn & overcome obstacles is one of her favourite parts. Elisa believes in using balanced training methods, and loads of positive reinforcement! She has had dogs her whole life - in early December 2020, she added Ember, a Husky X (pictured) to her family, and recently adopted a new Lab X puppy named Addy! Elisa helped The Dawg House launch training classes in March 2021, and looks forward to watching the team & facility grow! In 2022, Elisa completed the Advanced Behavioural Dog Training Course with Derek Snow of No Dog Left Behind, and is experienced with private dog training sessions. Contact her here for more info about this!

PHOTOGRAPHER & MARKETING COORDINATOR

Megan Moe

Megan took photos at The Dawg House for the first time during their grand opening in May 2019. She never thought she would be involved in the world of dogs, but when Marty & Megan started dating in 2021 and she started spending more time with Marty & Oliver, and at The Dawg House…she realized that dogs work their way into a person’s heart rather quickly! Megan has a background in interior design, photography, marketing & event planning, and loves working with The Dawg House team to continually grow & expand the facility & the positive impact on the community. In the spring of 2022, Megan welcomed Ruby into her life - a Golden Retriever puppy that you will likely see at The Dawg House when you stop in!

Ever since she was little, Rhea has had a passion for working with dogs. Growing up, her family has always had a dog or two.. or three… (you can never have enough dogs!) Rhea started working at the Dawg House in December of 2022. Brooklyn (another team member) told her that The Dawg House was hiring and she was so excited because she’s always wanted to work with dogs and this was her opportunity! Every day she comes to work excited to see all the dogs playing with their friends! Rhea loves seeing the shy dogs open up more and more as they come to daycare and make new friends.

Harlieanne Wiks

Harlieanne is originally from Moose Jaw, but moved to Regina while attending the U of R. She is in the faculty of education at the University, but works at The Dawg House while pursuing her education. Harlieanne has two big dogs that stayed at home with her parents, but she brought her cat with her to Regina - and she is excited to get a dog of her own someday! She also has a dog “nephew” who comes to The Dawg House, and that’s how she found out about our facility. Harlieanne says she loves coming to work every day because she gets to meet new dogs who put a smile on her face!

Avienn has always had a love for dogs and found joy in caring for them at The Dawg House since she started working here in March of 2023! She got her first puppy at 5 years old and she’s had many more since then. Avienn’s favourite part about working with dogs is seeing all their fun personalities!

Kiyana Polgar

Ever since she was young, Kiyana has wanted to work with animals. Dogs have always been her favourite animal. She was raised around dogs and currently has two dogs: Sloan, a 5 year old Rottweiler mix, and Bennie, a 6 year old german shepherd lab mix. Kiyana graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Olds College in February of 2021. She has always had a passion for dogs and has wanted to care and love for them all. Her dream is to adopt or save as many dogs as she can in my life. Kiyana’s dogs attended The Dawg House a few years before, and she saw we were hiring on Facebook and knew it was the perfect opportunity! Everyday Kiyana wakes up excited to come to work and be greeted by all the smiling faces on the dogs. She enjoys getting to watch them and experience shy dogs come out of their shell over time. She also loves seeing the friendships form between the dogs. Kiyana loves how no days are ever the same, and she’s forever grateful she get to take care of your dogs and love on them as she would her own. Kiyana is also interested in training dogs, and plans to pursue that at some point.

GROOMER

Paula Otalvaro

Paula is from Colombia, South America, and loves to groom Doodles and Golden Retriever breeds! Her favourite length to groom a dog is Medium, and says the best thing about her job is getting to connect with the dogs much she can. She likes working at The Dawg House because we have an environment that is peaceful and perfect to groom dogs!

One piece of advice for dog owners when it comes to grooming:

When you drop the dog off to be groomed, try to keep very calm and relaxed so the dog feels that same energy to start the grooming process!

GROOMER

Leah Schmidt

Leah has been a doggy groomer since 2021! She truly enjoy grooming all dogs, but she has a special place in her heart for Doodles. She loves giving them the adorable “teddy bear cut” and making them look their best. She shares a helpful tip for dog owners: regularly brush your furry friends and run a metal comb through their coat to prevent mats. The frequency of brushing will depend on the length of your dog’s coat, but it’s important for maintaining a nice look. Additionally, it’s beneficial to desensitize your dog to grooming by handling them regularly. Also, longer lengths of coats should come in for regular maintenance every 4-6 weeks!

She says the best part of her job is being able to spend time with and spoil all the wonderful dogs she meets - they truly deserve the best care and attention!

We’re hiring!
